oh! forgot about the equipment.

I wish there was a way to have a seperate nameing for equipment, as it is now it's the mod creators choice if he/she wants to translate everything or not.

Thanks knord, I like the changes. Some of them I'm not sure about (species vs. body), but the other 99% of it should be merged IMO.

I doesn't know how good that translation is, but I think better than this from us. So I want to add it to next version.

Thx you guys.

The translation is mainly a reformulation of excisting english file, but thanks for the kind words.

sadly I have already noticed a few wrongs in my translation... oh well

I will take a look at the "description" file and see if I can translate anything coherent.

It's just a matter of personal opinion. I was referring to this:

ST0405250001=A new alien body (%s) is found and can be autopsied.

Previously it was species instead of body. Either way is fine.

My name is Ken Persson.

Aah, that kind of body. I like it when it says body instead of spicies. But as Jim says, its a matter of oppinion.

And I found that there are some problems with the key shortcuts in my translation, I will look into it.

Description file is still in the works, it takes a while to translate it all.

Great! I love your sense of humor. Did you come up with it yourself, or did you translate parts from the German text? Either way, it will be a nice addition.

I've found the translation to be pretty good. Now I've just got to update to 0.845 and see what I can contribute.

Thanks again for a herculean effort!

My name is Lee Benjamin and I've been helping reword the web pages. Now I need to see if I can understand enough about the forum to register! :-) I don't like posting as "gast", it makes me feel undead :-) (a poor attempt at a cross-language pun)

Cruise on over to www.ufoaftermath.co.uk, we got a mention on the front page! As I mention in my post there, I've now had a chance to play with v0.845 and the English translations are quite appreciated and quite good too!

Thanks to Knord!

Jimine - Right after I posted the pun about "gast", I registered. Fortunately this forum is similar enough to others I've used that I didn't have to really know any German to do it. :-)

Knord,

What's the best way to contribute to the phrasing of the translation? I've been helping with the web pages by copying the text to word, editing and saving it as a .RTF file. I then send it in E-mail to Jim. Would it be better to get the whole file and wade through it? I haven't looked at how configuration control is done on the translation files yet. (Yes, I have, but right now I forget how it's done :-))

Thank you, Koloth :)

What I do with the .dat files is:
1. copy/paste each paragraph to googles translation to get an overview of the texts meaning.
2. use http://dict.leo.org/ for words that google dont accept or just translates completly wrong.
3. look over the paragraph and see if the meaning of it isnt gone and then off to next one.

If anyone have any suggestions on the english phrasing please let me know. Might be esier if theres one who makes the final editing for each .dat file.

Jim, any thoughts?

I'll keep a file of ideas and send them to you periodically when I think of it. If I fall behind a reminder is not out of the question. Can you get my E-mail from Jim or whoever or is it part of my forum profile? Oh, I guess I'll need your E-mail also. I guess if I do a little at a time I could post it here. (ya never know how people feel about swapping E-mails)
