there is a section in the german forums i thought and becouse there are english people that want to make a gameset but can't or don't have the time for it they can leave there ideas here so others can use them

Yust post ideas for a gameset if you dont have the time to make one or can't make one. And i know my english is bad i am a belgian

I have a idea: A random event that gives you a new technology.example you find a new type of ore. Scientist find a new technology by acident.

sort of like you get a % chance of getting a certain research item when you recover an item from battle?

no on the geoscape you have a chance that your staff discovers something like wile they are minging alphatron they also find another material.But yours is also a nice idea

So you mean, as a simple example, as we can find dinosaur bones while mining coal and ore in reality, there should be a possibillity for finding various stuff or even alien equipment in an alphatron mine?

just keep in mind that using random effects in that way will be problematic in almost all cases.

If the random bonus is too weak nobody will care. if it's too powerfull it will ruin gameplay, as all players will be required to wait until they get that random bonus at some random point in the game, or they will storm the game after they find it.

you can only succeed gameplay balancing with such an idea by placing it very carefully in a balanced gameset.

Now you know why balancing is the most ugly part. There are sooo many thinks possible - to ruin your gameset.
Just look at the little ghosts (? Irrlichter). They make one UFO the hardest and several people have been crushed by them.
The creator possibly asks why the hell, but thats live. Expect the unexpectable ;)

Greetings, all

Three ideas:
1. Moving ground - after some time aliens from crashsite begin to move to nearest town (or to any point at globe)
Status: done, need cleanup.
Ideas: swapping ground/ increasing alien amount in time ?

2. Transport mission with many gifts as bonus and aliens search/attack on current base is case of attempt of shootdown and fail.
Status: 90% done, need test and cleanup

3. Aircraft second fuel
Status: fail:-( Now fuel consume and fuel item is set by script and can be used only for aircraft type, non engine type.

Tommorow will try to publish results.

1. 3D Geoscape, with Mountains and Valleys, Bases with Radar on mountains increaces the range, Radar can be blocked by Geographical Obsicles, etc.

2. Sea Bases/ Alphatron mines. Simalar to Oil Platforms.

3. Standalone defence platforms.

4. Rotatable buildings, eg the 1x2, 1x3 buildings. maybe rotated with right click.

Have you considered:
A Game set in which at first there is Competition for the X-Force by private companies/ Countries on Earth.

They could compete to be the best, and the worst are gradually wiped out (i.e. No bases, no soldiers, no aircraft, no nothing) by the oncoming invasion force of the Aliens? This could introduce Multiplayer or Help to mop up some of the more difficult ships/ deal with more difficult ground battles (rather than them just dissappearing), but player looses items that could have been salvaged to the competitors that attacked and there will be competition for the monthly bonuses from the countries.

This could also create direct trade between different bases, co-op missions with AI on certain objectives for example escort the VIP(lend fighters to escort), then if the VIP's ship is intercepted mid flight and shot down(escorts destroyed or none escorting - Player choice), you have to perform Rescue mission (Player choice) in which you send ground team to locate the VIP crash site, eliminate Aliens and secure any Technology).

This could introduce Pirates, wanting the Alien Technology to sell off, who attack you after you attack alien crash sites, then you do another ground battle vs Humans.

I know this could Take A while to impliment, But I hope to GOD That you DO!!!

Not enough programmers to do that

Outposts are something similiar at the moment, and sometime in the future (beyond 915) pure guardposts might be introduced

Already possible if the gameset creator is willing to script such a thing, and almost impossible to program without scripting (for general use in all gamesets)

Multiplayer is impossible, because there is no imagible type of multiplayer that doesn't either break any gameset balance or disables most of the story in an xcom-type game.
I don't have time to translate the long german discussions we had about this, but they all resulted in the fact that its impossible to do a multiplayer xcom game - you need to loose at least one of the variables from the usual xcom mixture to make a multiplayer balancable.
(for example, UFO2000 removes the geoscape to allow multiplayer ground combat - you might look there)

All this could be scripted today, and possibly will be in certain gamesets (My Dark Age is an candidate), but all work is slow since we are not payed for it and have to earn money another way. Some of us even have family ;)

If at any point they are implemented into the Game (which is awesome, BTW) If I knew anything about scripting in X-Script, I would be abliged to help, but i cannot even make sense of the simple introductions... I do appreciate all of the work you guys (and girls) have done. its really evident in the game. Keep up the good work!
