This is to start an english discussion about the soon-to-be new default gameset.

There is an english summary of the gameset in the english part of the online-documentation. To find this, first click on the english symbol on the top right of this page.

This symbol is on any page and you can easily switch each page between the german and english contents. Unfortunately many of the pages have not yet been translated, resulting in an empty english page.

After that click on the following link which takes you directly to the new pages for the gameset.

If anyone is interested in helping me translate the gameset (into any language, but english should come first) please send an email to
But be warned - the gameset already contains a large number of texts and is constantly growing ;-)

Heh, I concur with the large number of texts part -- it's almost dazzling to see you've got enough imagination to come up with all that stuff.

I'd be interested, of course, in helping to translate (or simply translating myself, if it'd be more efficient) this gameset. I'd first translate it to english, but once I'm done with that, I would also be able to translate it to french, since it's another language in which I am somewhat good.

@DaFranker: Did you receive the email I send you yesterday?
If you want you can also start with the translation of the gameset, but in this case please wait until I send you an uptodate language file.

And the texts in the gameset are nothing compared to my other project - I'm writing a pen-and-paper RPG-Game with a complete new fantasy world of my own - thats Avarion - and the book is already at 200 pages A4 ;-)

Yeah, I checked my mail seconds ago, so I'll get working on that.

And whoa, I consider myself a good writer, but I don't think I'd manage to force enough patience into myself to imagine, plan out and then write that much content. Good luck :P.

Up for french translation!^_^
I'am not so good at graphics so better do something i'am good at:)
Well i can work from english only sorry but would be happy to do so.
About the in game text: is there any change for the future new default game set?(i don't think so but ask in any case...)

@DaFranker: I join you by mail let me know what you think of cooperation...If i can work on French translation it could let your hand free for english from german translation,no?

I also ask ago for the wiki french translation to the team but they say me that the translation of game must be finished first(and that's the way it should be),Anyway say me where i can start to really help you and i will do it.

Keep in mind that i am a dad and sometimes time is missing and it make my work not always regular.

I just started to work on translating the script files of the galactic war, and the normal language files are probably halfway into translation by someone else.

If everything goes as planned the next version of XForce will contain a german&english version of the galactic war.
And that new version will be larger than the one that is known to the german community at the moment...

Hmm. I just got myself a copy of the beta version, along with the "Alliances" gameset. During testing, I realized I hadn't quite fixed all the nasties in the main language file, so I'm getting back to work on that.

There are a few things that don't seem to work, though. For instance, there's no way (at least that I know of) to have a separate gameset name, description and difficulty levels for each language -- so we're stuck with having the gameset name in one language only, unless there's an option for that hidden somewhere.

I can't help you with the gameset name and description, but you can change the difficulty levels by clicking on the pencil button in the upper right corner of the difficulty settings dialog, which opens the name-edit dialog

Ich habe Downloaded 'X-Force: Fight for Destiny ~ V0.912' (von die website) und der 'Online Updater' ist kaput.

It comes with the Galactic War, which I may Add is very difficult to make money on, the point i'm up to, I have lots of Scientists, no projects, more Alphatron, but everything takes too long/ too short a time to produce, Prices are completely off, i.e craft mssiles sell for $300 and take 1 Technician with skill 80, 10 hours to make one pack, but the XF Assult rifle take the same Tech 200 hours to make one, which sells for $400. Then there is the Small Frag grenade, that required 50 Aplphatron to make in 80 hours 'I think' but only sells for $50, or somthing simalar.

Those numbers are mostly correct, because the technician construction capacity is not intended to make money. The final balancing which will result in some changes to the money is impossible at the moment, because there are too many items missing in the not yet complete gameset

In a future version of the gameset galactic war there will be a few options where it will be possible to make money by letting the technicians produce for sale, but not at the moment.

On the other hand its not neccessary to make money that way at the moment - if you run out of money you're making some mistakes, most probably building too many bases too fast in the game, or loosing too many planes by attacking the wrong enemy UFO with the wrong weapons or so.

What happened to the Bounty for Shooting down UFO's?
I think that is the one that is missing, It seems That I only fget bounties for ground combat even though I have shot countless more over the sea.
Or will that out balance the '(Scout or Spike)'-cores, ghost light 'escorts' as you would get bounties for each ghostlight, and they dont stop appearing untill the '(Scout or Spike)'-Core is destroyed, this makes them very difficult to attack due to the Ammo constraints, most ships run out of ammo before reaching the ' '-Core so it takes a whole squadron to be despatched, granted I rarely loose any ships, this consumes a lot of ammo and puts ships at risk, if all went wrong i could loose most ships due to the commitments it requires to engage the ' '-Cores.

While the "Ghost Lights" are handled as UFOs by the game mechanics, the story describes them as drones launched and controlled by the Eariol UFOs. Therefore they are the only UFO that doesn't give points for shooting them down.

All other UFOs do give points, but those are simply added to your general points without getting their own result screen like the one after ground combat.

Besides - if you're using the correct tactic (which is NOT the automatic hunt button) you can usually shot down a core with only three or four ghost light encounters before you get to the core (sometimes even less).
